Who is W.D. Gann?

William Delbert Gann or otherwise known as W.D. Gann was born in 1878 and traded commodities and the stock market in 1902. In 1908 he moved to New York where he opened his own brokerage firm. During this time as a trader he made more than $50 million dollars in profit. In today's money, this would be equivalent to $500 million dollars in profit. Gann's return on capital was on average 400%.  

 

W.D. Gann's predictions?

W.D. Gann was renowned for developing a technical analysis to determine the future direction of the market.  This meant that he looked at charts and was able to predict the direction of these charts on high probabilities on where it might head.  The methodology utilizes natural laws and geometric proportions.

W.D. Gann was renowned at picking major turning points like the peak of markets to the date and time.  He was also able to forecast the bottoms point of each again at the date and time.  Each year he published his forecasts in a newsletter called “the Supply and Demand letter.”  Over 92% of the forecasts were accurate and he was highly respected in the financial community throughout his career.

In addition to his annual forecast newletter, W.D. Gann also wrote a number of books through out is life.  He also run a course on his methodology.  It was reported that the course cost was equivalent to buying a house.
